The Patriotic “HONOR FLIGHT” receives $5200.00 for 2017 from Slaton Knights of Columbus!

The now famous HONOR FLIGHT receives $5000.00 from Knights of Columbus 2571, Slaton, TX.

Our HONOR GUARD ESCORTED the Veterans to a once in a lifetime  airplane flight so that they could visit the historical sites in Washington, D. C. in September 2016. And then upon their return the Veterans were given a hero’s WELCOME HOME ESCORT!

The Patriotic Degree (Fourth Degree) Honor Guard or Color Corp was chartered November 21, 1965 as SLATON ASSEMBLLY 2571 and Slaton sponsored Lubbock Council 3008!

The REGALIA of the 4th Degree: The ceremonial sword symbolizes Christian Knighthood, and is carried to signify reverence to Church, Eucharist, country and freedom. The tuxedo, chapeau (hat) cape and sword worn by the Color Corps were inspired by 19th century naval uniforms, with different cape colors representing 9 different program ranks, the Lapel Pin (4th Degree pin), the Social Baldric (worn under the coat, from right shoulder to left hip), the sword scabbard, the Triad Emblem: The Dove, the Cross and the Globe AND Our honored Order cherishes as its Patron, CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS!
